DESCRIPTION:\n \n \n \n \n What changes when we stop approachi
ng the land only as something to manage\, and begi
n approaching it as something we can learn from?\n
\n \n Biodynamics begins with the possibility tha
t a farm or garden is more than a collection of so
 il\, plants\, animals\, and water. It is a living
 whole\, shaped by relationships\, rhythms\, histor
ies\, and forces that may not reveal themselves at
first glance.\n \n \n \n This weekend is an invit
 ation to look again.\n \n \n \n Together\, we will
  explore soil\, compost\, plants\, water\, movemen
t\, and form through the practical tools of biodyn
 amics. No prior experience is necessary.\n \n \n \
 n Curiosity and imagination is enough.\n \n \n \n
 \n Weekend Overview\n \n \n Over two days\, our wo
rk will move between classroom inquiry and direct
experience in the field\, covering core biodynamic
practices and concepts including circular soil ch
 romatography\, compost preparations\, water phenom
enology\, and the biodynamic planting calendar. Se
e more details at the program webpage (https://hor
 nfarmcenter.org/biodynamics-weekend/). \n \n \n \n

 \n \n \n Payment & Logistics\n \n \n This program
offers sliding scale tuition. When registering\, y

DESCRIPTION:\n \n \n \n \n As plants recline into winter dorma
 ncy\, their energy moves below the surface.\n \n \
n So too do the activities of cold-season gatherer
s\, tracing the flow of energy into the roots\, st
ems\, and "interior" parts of plants. Like the sti
llness of the landscape on the threshold of winter
 \, wild foods and medicines are less conspicuous\;
and yet abundance persists\, well-suited for our
wintertime needs. It's a time to slow down--to mir
ror the quiet of the season--and to tend wild spac
es in gratitude for their gifts. \n \n \n \n Wheth
er you are interested in wild foods\, local plants
and ecology\, or alternative uses for plants thro
ugh wildcrafting and medicine\, you're invited to
join our Late Fall Forging Walk\, taking place Sun
 day\, December 6th from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.\n \n \n
\n Along the way\, we will spend time paying tribu
te to our long shared history with plants\, lookin
g beyond the question of "what can I eat?" on the
landscape. We will also emphasize ethical foraging
and ways of giving back to the land from which we
’re taking–reinforcing how thinking like an ecosys
tem should guide the practice of gathering wild fo
 ods.\n \n \n \n Beginners and experienced foragers
  are welcome. \n \n \n \n \n Program Notes:\n \n \
